Our laboratory is aiming at the social implementation of a device (heart-on-a-chip microdevice) that can detect human cardiac functions with high sensitivity by applying iPS cell technology and Organ-on-a-Chip technology through a collaboration with Stem Cell & Device Laboratory, Inc. (SCAD) (Kyoto, Japan) (CEO: Kensuke Kato). The research will be presented at the RIKEN booth at BioJapan 2022, one of the largest partnering events in Asia (12-14 Oct, Pacifico Yokohama).

At the 86th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society to be held online from 11-13 March 2022, Masumoto will give a lecture in a morning seminar sponsored by iHeart Japan Corporation on the future of cardiac regenerative medicine using iPS cells. The discussion will be held together with Professor Minoru Ono of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Tokyo.
