Researcher Murata has been awarded the Mitsui Sumitomo Trust Bank Public Trust Cardiovascular Research Promotion Fund Prize (Uchida Award)
Dec. 26, 2024
The Mitsui Sumitomo Trust Bank Public Trust was established with the aim of uncovering and fostering hidden talent in cardiovascular research. It seeks to advance the field of cardiology, which has lagged behind Western countries since the Meiji era, by providing research grants to young medical researchers in this area and awarding prizes to those who achieve outstanding research results. This year, Researcher Kozue Murata has been awarded the 2024 Uchida Prize for her study on functional impairments caused by persistent SARS-CoV-2 infection in heart models derived from iPS cells, published in iScience in December 2023 (Murata, iScience 2023). The award ceremony will take place in February 2025.
