Team Leader Shigeo Hayashi Awarded 2023 Hyogo Prefectural Science Prize

RIKEN BDR’s Shigeo Hayashi, team leader of the Laboratory for Morphogenetic Signaling, was named one of the recipients of the 2023 Hyogo Prefectural Science Prize. He received his award at a ceremony held at the Hyogo Prefecture Citizen’s Hall on November 10.
Hayashi was honored for his contributions to advancing our knowledge of biology through his research investigating the underlying mechanisms and intercellular signaling involved in maintaining the stable morphogenetic processes of animal organs during development when their functional shapes are being formed.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award. I will do my best to continue to pursue and publish research that originates from Hyogo Prefecture,” commented Hayashi on hearing that he was named a recipient.
Hyogo Prefecture recognizes individuals or organizations who have made contributions to enhance culture, to advance science, to promote sports, as well as to create a better and brighter community by awarding prizes under four categories: the Hyogo Prefectural Culture Prize, Hyogo Prefectural Science Prize, Hyogo Prefectural Sports Prize, and Hyogo Prefectural Society Prize.
