The RIKEN Yokohama Campus organizes an Open Day every year, where the people living in the local community are welcome to visit and learn about the research activities being conducted there. The Open Day programs include various hands-on activities and experiments for both adults and children, such as extracting DNA from plants, tours of different facilities, and lectures given by researchers working at the Yokohama campus. The Open Day is held jointly with the neighboring Yokohama City University.
