Summary

From writing a presubmission inquiry or cover letter to a point-by-point response to reviewers or rebuttal letter, for many scientists, irrespective of which stage in their career, publishing papers can be a long and challenging process. Yet, each step on the way will ultimately determine whether a paper will be accepted or rejected at a journal. Although some researchers may be familiar with the editorial process, through direct interactions with their handling editor, for many, it still remains a black box. In my talk, I plan to unravel the mysteries of scientific publishing by shedding light to the editorial process. I will also be sharing editorial insights into current trends and tips on how to prepare manuscripts and
increase the chances of successfully publishing papers.
